Taxi Driving is a Profession
It therefore follows that it needs a professional body to represent it’s interests at both a National and local level. It is difficult to accept that any decent solicitor (for example) wouldn’t be a member of the Law Society, the same is surely applicable to the taxi trade.
I guess you’re asking what does the NTA do exactly. Well, the NTA is a key stakeholder with government and consulted on various aspects of taxi and private hire legislation. These consultations are sent to all members for their consideration and the responses are compiled and sent to government as an association view.
Further to the above the NTA has compiled a multitude of taxi related case-law over the years and this is freely available to all members.
On a local level the NTA can offer both advice, assistance and arbitration in disputes between the trade and local authorities.
The NTA want all members to play a role in the Association, we are a members association, all of our Directors are working cab drivers.
Applications for Commercial Membership of the Company shall be considered from any Manufacturer, Distributor or any other firm or company that supplies merchandise or services of any kind or description which relates to the Taxi Industry.
